Located at the foot of the Trois Croix Mountain in Santenay-le-Haut, the Bachey-Legros estate covers nearly 20 hectares and has been passionately cultivating vines for six generations. The estate’s wines are unique in that they come from vines that are over 60 years old, which produce low yields but wines of great concentration. This wine has a beautiful deep ruby color. The nose releases delicate aromas of morello cherry, blackcurrant, and raspberry, enriched with subtle floral notes and a hint of black pepper. The palate is beautifully rounded, full-bodied, and well-structured with a velvety texture that gives way to silky tannins. The finish is long and fruity with a slight minerality.
This lovely wine will reach its full potential over the next ten years.
Medium-bodied, it pairs well with fall and winter dishes such as guinea fowl with cabbage or braised beef, as well as soft cheeses with washed rinds.
