The Tortochot family has been among winemakers in Gevrey-Chambertin for several centuries. The estate has been managed by Chantal since 1996 and has been grown organically since 2003. This cuvée is a blend of two clos from the Morey-Saint-Denis vineyard, classified as Premier Cru: Clos Solon and Clos Baulet , for a total of a half hectare area.
Beautiful garnet color, moderately sustained. The nose is subtle, frank, and delicate with a nice bouquet of aromas of red and black fruits. Full and generous on the palate with a long and fresh finish.
This supple and silky cuvée can be appreciated in its youth but will develop pretty tertiary aromas of undergrowth and humus within 6 to 7 years.
You will enjoy it with a guinea fowl with cabbage, a turkey stuffed with prunes, a river fish. It will also pair well with soft, rind-washed cheeses (epoisses, munster, livarot).
