Based in Ay, Gosset perpetuates the heritage of traditional know-how. Subtle and racy, the Gosset Grande Réserve cuvée, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, is its signature. Its brilliant, limpid pale gold color reveals a very regular string of bubbles, the sign of a fine wine. The first, very expressive nose is marked by notes of white peach and mirabelle plum. After a short aeration, it reveals more complex aromas of brioche, marzipan and honey, with a light floral touch and a hint of candied mandarin. On the palate, the attack is lively without being aggressive. The palate is full-bodied, precise and structured, with a fine vinosity. The fruit on the nose is accompanied by a fine chalky minerality and a long, saline, subtly spicy finish.
To be enjoyed fresh over the next three to five years.
Delicious as an aperitif with a few gougères and other appetizers, this characterful champagne is the perfect accompaniment to braised veal sweetbreads or poultry in cream sauce. It can also be enjoyed on its own throughout the evening.
