Delivery to the USA
Your wines are legally shipped to the United States through Côte d'Or Imports.
Delivery to private individuals for personal consumption
Minimum order of 6 bottles and/or 3 magnums.
You have the choice between two modes of delivery: by boat or by air.
How can I order wines for United States on the Wine Market website?
When you first visit the Marché aux Vins website, the prices indicated includes 20% of French taxes. For the delivery of our wines to the US, we take off these taxes and we add insurances (proportional of the goods value) and the shipping cost depending of your total amount of bottles and possibly magnums and Jeroboams. On the Marché aux Vins website, when you view your shopping cart after starting or finishing your selection, you are prompted to enter the name of your country by clicking « Calculate shipping ». Please select (United States) and your state of delivery (for example California) and then you need to press the « Update » button.
From there, the prices of the products you have selected in the shopping cart page are VAT-free and already include the insurance costs for delivery. If you continue shopping, the prices displayed in the store are also excluding VAT plus insurance costs per product for delivery. On the cart page you find the total of the insurance at the right of the total amount of your order (includes X€ Insurance).
You need to decide between two ways of delivery : express US air delivery – 2 to 4 weeks or delivery in the United States by boat – 8 to 12 weeks. An option is already preselected, you can possibly modify it so that the total price delivered door to door of your order is calculated automatically according to the desired delivery method. If you wish, you can complete your order by pressing the top left button« Continue shopping ». When you will go back to the cart page, shipping fees will be automatically updated.
Once your selection is complete, you must « Proceed to checkout », and then complete the billing details and possibly set a billing address different from the delivery address. After having read and accepted the general conditions of sale, you validate your order by pressing the « Place order » button.
Rem: With this system you benefit of a decreasing unit transport costs for your delivery. Prices are exclusive of taxes and shipping costs are fixed costs per unit. The higher the value of a wine, the better the price delivered to your home compared to the American market. The best prices with no middle men!
How can I pay for my order?
You can pay by secure payment 3 D, by Bank Transfer or by Email payment link UP2 PAY:
- The 3D secure payment system guarantees you the best service.
However, your bank takes a lot of precautions, especially for payments on behalf of a foreign company. We recommend you to create your customer account before proceeding to the payment of your order in order to save the contents of your cart. You should check the “Create an account?” box under the input field of your email address. If on your first try the payment is rejected, you must contact your bank to allow the transaction before a second try. You can then retrieve your selection from your customer account history.
- The option of payment by bank transfer is also offered when validating your order. Make the payment directly from your bank account. Please use your order ID as payment reference. Your order will not be shipped until the funds are received.
- If after validation of your order your payment fails, you can contact our team of sommeliers at this address tourisme@marcheauxvins.com. You will receive an Email from our team and UP2PAY payment link as soon as possible, allowing you to pay securely. We will then validate your order. Do not forget to give us your full contact details in your email. Payment by CB and MASTERCARD only.
Can we get delivery all year?
Yes, but given the extreme temperatures in some states and to avoid any damage to your wines, our transporter applies a special procedure during summer (from 15 May, the summer delivery is in effect. see below) and is able to keep your wines in its thermoregulated storage in winter until the delivery conditions are optimal
Is there any extra charge when my wines arrive in the USA?
You will not have to pay any additional costs on delivery, except for Alabama (AL), where the delivery is done in a state store with a small surcharge to pay on the spot (see below).
How are shipping costs calculated?
Shipping costs are calculated by multiple of 6 bottles, 3 magnums and 1 jeroboam. Incomplete cases are billed as full.
For example : If you buy from 1 to 6 bottles, you pay the shipping fee for 6 bottles. If you ship 7 bottles you will pay delivery for 12 bottles.
A case of wine cannot mix bottles, magnums and / or jeroboams – The shipping costs of the different formats are estimated separately and added together for billing.
For example : If you buy 4 bottles and 2 magnums, you will pay the shipping fee for 6 bottles and 3 magnums.
To optimize your shipping costs, you must order a multiple of 6 bottles and/or 3 magnums.
Express delivery by air or marine thermoregulated
The shipping and insurance are collected by the Marché aux Vins during the payment of your order.
- Delivery fees : inludes order verification and of the labelling compliance for exportation, export, customs, international express air shipping or international ocean freight, US customs clearance, duty and delivery door to door (excepting Alabama (AL)).
- Insurance: these fees cover breakage, loss and wine specific damage like seepage during transit. Please open your cases immediately upon delivery and contact us by e-mail with photos within 36 hours if you have any concerns. Your satisfaction is our number one priority.
- Taxes : excluding the states of Alabama (AL) and New Hampshire (NH) (see Additional details and requirements for certain states), no additional tax is payable for the delivery of your order.
- Timing: from the pick-up of your order by the carrier, the delivery time is estimated to be 2 to 4 weeks for air express delivery and 8 to 12 weeks for sea delivery. Please note that the final delivery cannot be arranged until you reply to the carrier’s confirmation email.
- Protecting your wines : Côte d’Or Imports is a specialists in legally shipping wines; therefore, it will take every needed precaution to avoid any risk of damage during transit due to extreme weather conditions.
IMPORTANT: You will receive an email from Côte d’Or Imports when they have registered your order and a second one when your wines are ready to leave France.
If you do not hear from our carrier within 3 weeks of placing your order, please contact us to verify that your order has been registered and that we have a valid email address.

Delivery and taxes
Conditions and supplements for certain States
- Delivery
Our carrier can deliver individual customers to all US states except Mississippi (MS) and Utah (UT) where deliveries are illegal.
Additional fees for delivery
Hawaii (HI) : requires additional fees of 95 €/case of 6 or 12 bottles, of 3 or 6 magnums and per jéroboam.
Alaska (AK) : shipping is possible for additional fees of 80 €/case of 6 or 12 bottles, of 3 or 6 magnums and per jéroboam.
ATTENTION : delivery to Alaska in only from June 1st to September 30th. Orders received outside that window will be stored, free of charge in our US warehouse of Cote d’Or Imports until delivery is possible.
- Summer delivery
The quality of your wines is our primary concern and this quality could be compromised if your order was delivered without taking into account the weather. Please take a moment to review the options offered by our carrier by following Delivery Options in USA Summer 2023 – Côte d’Or Import and see which you prefer:
Delivery to the United States by boat – Autumn delivery (free storage)
Free storage for final delivery in autumn
Summer Delivery New York City USA by Boat – 8 to 12 weeks
Special case of New York City for which final delivery is free in summer.
Summer delivery to the United States by boat – 8 to 12 weeks (see delivery conditions)
Summer express delivery to the US by air – 3-5 weeks
For these last two options, the last stage of delivery is thermo-regulated with an extra 49€ per box of 6 or 12 bottles, per box of 3 or 6 magnums, and per jeroboam.
- State tax
In Alabama, (AL) : wine must be delivered to a state store for an additional fee of approximately $4 per case of 6 or 12 bottles, of 3 or 6 magnums and per jéroboam. Under State law, you will pay that fee upon pick up from the state store. The carrier will contact you to determine the most convenient state store for delivery.
New Hampshire (NH) : charges a state tax of 8% of the total value of the wine for direct shipments to consumers. This is to be paid to the Marché aux Vins, includes in the shipping fees when you place your order.
Wine, spirits and containers
Delivery of our complete range of wines, champagnes and spirits in different formats
IMPORTANT: A case of wine cannot mix bottles, magnums and / or jeroboams (3 L) – Different formats are not combined but calculated separately for billing and delivery. The shipping costs of the different containers are added together to reach at the shipping costs. Incomplete wine cases are calculated and billed to the next highest unit count..
To optimize your shipping costs, you must order a multiple of 6 bottles and/or 3 magnums.
Delivery conditions of certain products
Mathusalems must be packaged on wood pallet and require a specific quote. It is not possible to order these items on the site of the Marché aux Vins. Please contact us for a quotation.
Wooden box delivery is not possible on the site of the Marché aux Vins. Please note that in the case of a special offer with the free wooden box, the wines will be delivered to you in reinforced export carton wine boxes.
Champagne’s delivery requires the establishment of a Certificate of Origin with an additional charge of €10 per order, regardless of the number of references ordered.
