Located on the island of Islay, the Ardbeg distillery was bought in 1997 and renovated by LVMH and DIAGEO.It is now internationally recognized and was voted “Whisky of the Year” in 1997.

Ardbeg Uigeadail takes its name from the brooding, mysterious Lock which provides the peat-laden water for Ardbeg. This blend combines the traditional smoky notes of Ardbeg with the typical winey taste of ex-sherry casks. It is not filtered cold and bottled to a high degree, which reinforces the aromas, complexity and depth of this Uigedail.

On the nose, an incredible balance between fruit, spices and a warm, thick, sweet, fragrant and enveloping smoke. The mouth is full with powerful and deep aromas supported by notes of cherries coated with dark chocolate. The aging in ex-sherry casks is very well integrated and brings a warm and a certain perfumed sweetness as the flavor fades towards a pleasantly smoky finish.

Too powerful for the aperitif, you will enjoy it exclusively in digestive.
