This cuvée emblematic of the name of the founder of the Hospices de Beaune comes from the most beautiful “climats” of the appellation. The dress is a deep and brilliant ruby. The nose, of great elegance, is dominated by small red fruits on violet fragrances and notes of spices. The mouth is complex and fleshy with a dense but silky texture. The wood is melted and tannins are well integrated. The finish is long and spicy.
This kind of container will take patience, sometimes a quarter century but the reward will be worth the wait. Do not hesitate to invite a large number of friends for this great occasion!
This wine, served with a beautifully grilled ribeye steak and a sauté of chanterelle mushrooms, will delight many.
