Claire et Stéphane Follin-Arbelet own a small, organic estate. Lavaut-Saint-Jacques is one of the most famous “climats” of the Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru appellation.
The dark ruby colour is very characteristic of the vintage. The nose of ripe berries, succeeds as oxygenation, a superb range of strong and sweet spices. The tannins melt in the mouth, until a finish with notes of small fruit compoted, undergrowth, leather and spices. A Gevrey-Chambertin of a beautiful maturity, concentrated and severe, incredibly aromatic.
Ready to drink, however, you can keep it 4 or 6 years longer.
It will be spoken with a beautiful braised Prime Rib, grilled duck breast or your chocolate desserts like a Black Forest Cake.
