With its 12-ha certified organic since 2014, Domaine Tortochot, run since 1997 by Chantal Michel-Tortochot, produces racy, generous wines in which the Gevrey terroir expresses itself with strength and elegance. This parcel of Champerrier, planted in 1920 by Félix Tortochot, is the oldest Gevrey vineyard on the estate. It gives us a wine of great density, with a deep, brilliant ruby color. The very expressive nose reveals a bouquet marked by red and black fruit aromas, enhanced by a floral touch of peony and dried rose, and a hint of sweet spices. Silky on the palate, this wine is full-bodied, complex, and tannic. The finish is persistent and mineral.
This perfectly balanced wine will reveal its full potential after about ten years.
It goes perfectly with a nice grilled entrecôte. As for cheeses, it likes them medium-bodied and preferably regional.
