With its 21.4-are plot planted to the south of the magnificent château that overlooks this ancestral clos, Château de Marsannay produces a superb wine that confirms that while 2019 yielded very small volumes, the quality was truly outstanding. It delivers an irresistible wine, combining exceptional balance with an intoxicating bouquet. Its velvety purple robe gives way to a nose whose sweetness evokes the scent of freshly picked roses and violets. Added to this is a luscious concentration of raspberry, currant, and ripe cherry, enhanced by a hint of licorice and clove. The palate is ample, fleshy, and velvety, with very silky tannins. The finish is long, with fruit notes intensified by a beautiful minerality.
This grand cru, with great aging potential, should be kept in the cellar for a good ten years before being enjoyed at its full value. However, like all great Burgundy wines, it will bring you much pleasure right now after an hour or two of decanting.
This great wine will perfectly complement a tournedos Rossini.
