The Mars Shinshu distillery, founded in 1985, is located in the Nagano region, in the heart of the Japanese Alps.
Limited edition of 5000 bottles, Mars Kohiganzakura was blended and bottled in 2016 from slightly peaty whisky distilled in 2013 and a little whisky aged over twenty years.
Its name is that of a flower typical of the prefecture of Nagano and its label was specially created by the artist Yoko Nomura.
Part of the blend was aged in ex-barrels of Japanese red wine that served for the aging of the wines of the Yamanashi region for about twenty years.
This elegant and refined Japanese Whisky has a rich aromatic palette, compote fruits, sweet spices and vanilla, in a full and structured palate. The long and dense finish reveals a fine and subtle peat.
