The internationally renowned Samalens family house was founded in 1882 in the small village of Laujuzan in the south of Bordeaux, in the heart of the production area of the great wines of the lower Armagnac.
This family of distillers coopers, who combine tradition and modernity, is specializes in the production of Bas Armagnac. They have 8 stills, of which 4 of the Charentais type with double distillation are more than a century old, and 4 of the traditional Armagnacais type with continuous distillation. The aging is carried out in Gascon oak barrels whose staves are cut by hand and dried for 4 or 5 years by the Samalens themselves.
The casks are first placed under the roofs where they undergo temperature variations over the seasons, then finish their aging in more stable temperature conditions. This sophisticated process makes it possible to produce particularly round and elegant armagnacs.

Dark vermilion colour tending mahogany, the nose is dominated by notes of undergrowth and mushrooms. Then come elegant notes of oak and dried plum. On the palate it is round with precious notes of vanilla conferred by a long aging in the barrel. A very elegant Armagnac that still retains its youthful aromas.
