Magnum Meursault Genevriéres Premier Cru Cuvée Philippe Le Bon 2016, Hospices de Beaune

349,00

Nobility as a legacy!

This cuvée pays tribute to the Duke of Burgundy who gave his support to his chancellor, Nicolas Rolin, when the latter decided to build the Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune in 1443. The cuvée, elaborated from vines planted only in Genevrières Dessous, those of the Dessus having had to be torn up, is among the best of the great whites.

This nectar sports a bright and beautifully golden color. The intense and complex nose presents an aromatic palette where white roses, exotic fruits, hazelnuts, some smoky notes and a hint of honey mingle. The palate, halfway between the tension of the Perrières and the carnal roundness of the Charmes, is fruity, mineral with a beautiful extension. With its obvious balance and harmonious flesh, this wine is promoted to a very bright future.

Tasting :
Less tense than in its first years, it already provides you a lot of pleasure. In this format, you will still have to wait 4 or 5 years for it to develop all its aromatic complexity. It will keep 8 to 12 years in a good cellar.

Pairings :
A terrine of foie gras, a fillet of pike- perch with crustacean cream or a risotto with truffle will honor this great wine for the pleasure of your taste buds.
