Saint-Véran Les Chatenays 2021, Domaine Carrette

Made up, like the rest of the Mâconnais of an impressive diversity of terroirs, the half-century-old “Saint-Véran” appellation is spread over two islets on either side of the Pouilly-Fuissé, hence its nickname of “golden belt of Pouilly-Fuissé”. The plot of Mures located in the village of Davayé is a playground that Chardonnay loves. Domaine Carrette produces a wine with a straw yellow colour, clear and brilliant that reveals an intense nose and well typed white flowers and lemon zest. Aromatic character that is found in a round and flexible mouth carried by a slight vivacity that highlights the fruit. The finish is mineral and sweet.

If it delights us with the aperitif accompanied by some gougères, its fruity freshness will balance the iodine strength of seafood or bring a tangy touch to the fondant of a veal blanquette.
