Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru Cuvée Madeleine Collignon 2014, Hospices de Beaune

Located on the heights of Mazis-Hauts, this magnificent plot in the heart of the great wines of Gevrey-Chambertin, was offered in 1976 by Jean Collignon in memory of his mother, Madeleine, whose cuvée now bears the name. Nearly 60% of the plot is still planted with plants dating back to 1947, confirming the remarkable depth and density that this cuvée can provide. This grand cru with a deep red color whose nose exhales gourmet aromas of slightly jammed red and black fruits mixed with notes of licorice pepper and undergrowth. This powerful and virile wine deploys a beautiful amplitude in the mouth with a lot of finesse and tannins well present but silky. The finish is long and fruity.
