Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2018, Château de Marsannay

This large 51-hectare plot having obtained the Grand Cru appellation in 1937 has an inseparable history of Burgundy vineyards. Its wine is one of the most famous in the world. This 2018 vintage has nothing to do with the austerity of the monks of Citeaux who created it but it has on the contrary the refinement of a gentleman. Adorned with a very deep red colour, it has a remarkable aromatic intensity mixing the purity of black fruits with floral notes. In the mouth, a texture all in lace and very covering. Perfect balance between roundness and acidity. The velvet finish is endless and concludes with a superb expression of minerality.

Tasting :
A wine that can be easily approached. You can drink it young to enjoy its gourmet fruitiness but if you keep it a dozen years in the cellar, your patience will be rewarded.

A doe fillet with girolles is likely to fall for its charms.
