Its evocative name suits it like a glove!
With this rather confidential white appellation, Château de Meursault delivers a veritable nugget with a sparkling light gold color. The highly expressive nose reveals fine, complex aromas of citrus and ripe fruit, enhanced by lime blossom and peach blossom with a touch of vanilla. This bouquet evolves towards notes of hazelnut and toasted almond, dried apricot, honey and cinnamon. On the palate, a full-bodied wine with moderate acidity, combining minerality, richness and depth.
Tasting:
If you drink it young, don’t hesitate to decant it to amplify its aromatic expression. But, with a little patience, it will gain complexity and opulence to give you infinite pleasure.
Pairings:
Its freshness and floral range will be wonderful with poultry and veal in cream sauce, but it will also accompany a fine fillet of pike-perch. As it ages, it will sublimate foie gras, and is a perfect match for cheeses such as Cîteaux or Comté aged 24 months.
Awards:
90-93/100 – Jasper Morris ; 16/20 – 92/100 – Magazine VertdeVin
