Volnay Premier Cru Cuvée Blondeau 2021, Hospices de Beaune – Set of 3

After donating the bells of the Hospice de la Charité on rue de Lorraine in Beaune, restoring the church in Volnay and building a school, François Blondeau donated all his vineyards in Pommard and Volnay. Produced from old vines and composed of 70% Champans, Taille Pieds, Ronceret and Mitans for the remainder, this beautiful Cuvée should not leave lovers of great wines indifferent.

This Volnay Premier Cru Cuvée Blondeau 2021 has a beautiful, intense ruby color. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, accompanied by subtle floral and spicy notes. On the palate, the attack is delicate, with a velvety texture and fine tannins, underpinned by a pleasant freshness. The long, elegant finish reveals woody and slightly mineral nuances.

This Volnay will be at the top of its potential within 10 years.

Pairings :

It pairs perfectly with refined dishes such as a filet de bœuf en croûte, where the richness of the wine enhances the tenderness of the meat. It also pairs wonderfully with roasted magret de canard accompanied by a red fruit sauce, which accentuates the wine’s fruity notes. For a more vegetal pairing, try it with a wild mushroom tart.
